    These new cars will be too costly to repair when they get old. As it is now an out of warranty repair costs a small fortune.

    Tell me about it! I have 2015 Taurus that I have had since new for over 14 months now. It has 33k on it and I have been spammed by telephone calls 2-3 days just from the extended warranty whores who are not affiliated with the dealership but... the dealership knows your mileage if you go for service and shares the information.

    Whores is putting it mildly.. Anyone remember those Felons from US Fidelus selling warranties that were worthless.. Screwed a bunch of people!

    If i were to buy an extended warranty it would be from the manufacturer. And not some after market pos the service writer pushes that yields a high commission!

    That's pretty much what I will do. Car is almost paid off and it serves me well. It will be sad to see the demise of the Taurus. The Gen 6 is based on a Volvo platform with Haldex / Borg Warner AWD system. 2 1/2 tons and a great touring car.
