Three Boeing 747-8Fs that previously flew for Russian AirBridgeCargo are starting a new life in the US. The aircraft were recalled by leasing company BOC Aviation after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions. Now a new user has been found for the jumbos.
The aircraft are being added to the fleet of Atlas Air, the world's largest user of cargo 747s with fifty units in service. Among them are four 747-400LCFs, which are used to transport fuselage parts of the 787 Dreamliners on behalf of aircraft manufacturer Boeing. In addition, Boeing 737s, 767s and 777s are being flown.
The three additional 747-8Fs will be delivered in the third quarter of this year.
